General Liability (GL) insurance protects against third-party claims for bodily injury, property damage, and personal injury (libel/slander) arising from your business operations. A customer who slips on your floor, a contractor who damages a client's home, or a competitor who sues you for defamation — GL covers all three. Most landlords require a minimum $1 million GL policy to sign a commercial lease; many clients require proof of coverage before hiring you.
